Bangkok Restaurant Review: Lady Brett Tavern

A fellow American ex-pat girlfriend and I were looking for a restaurant for dinner in Chong Nonsi after our plan to try a pop-up at Maggie Choo’s didn’t pan out. I’ve been hearing that Lady Brett has a reputation for some really good barbecue and southern comfort food and since my friend is from Tennessee, it seemed appropriate.

We sat down and ordered a round of cocktails, which were delicious, to sip on while we waited for our food. We started by sharing the Roast Japanese Pumpkin Salad (180 THB) and I was absolutely blown away. Generous slices of roasted pumpkin slathered with lemon-thyme dressing with fresh greens, roasted walnuts, and ricotta. One of my favorite salads in Bangkok hands-down.

For my main course I went with the Grilled Chicken Burger (190 THB) – Charcoal barbequed chicken thigh with a horseradish mayo, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion and homemade pickles on an in-house baked soft bun. Fantastic.

My girlfriend went with the Pulled Pork Sandwich and was similar enthralled.

We would have loved to go upstairs to U.N.C.L.E for some post-dinner cocktails, but alas, that little speakeasy is only open on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday evenings. Instead we settled for another round of delicious cocktails here. How a bar isn’t open on a Saturday night is beyond me, but I trust the good people of Sapparot Group to run their businesses as they seem fit. After all, they are the masterminds behind Rocket Coffeebars which are some of my favorite restaurants/cafes in Bangkok.
