Bangkok Restaurant Review: Pala Pizza

Pala Pizza was one of the first food recommendations that I received when I first moved to Bangkok. The more people I talked to, the more it came up! Despite the glowing praise and repeated urgings, it took me a while to come here, because just moving from NYC I was more eager to explore Bangkok’s Asian cuisine offerings than pizza.

Located underneath the Asoke BTS station, Pala has both indoor seating and a take away window where you can quickly grab a slice of their flatbread, traditional Italian style pizza. While many people extol the virtues of their pizza, I also heartily recommend their desserts. They have a great selection – from seasonal fruit tarts to chocolate tortes to cheesecakes. I usually have a very difficult time choosing, but everything I’ve tried so far has been delicious!

Its convenient location at the intersection of the BTS and MRT lines and their availability on most of Bangkok’s delivery services (e.g. FoodPanda) means that you have no excuse NOT to try Pala Pizza. However, I’ve found that their pizza is MUCH better the fresher it is, so I suggest going in person since your travels through Bangkok will eventually take you to this public transit hub. My recommendation is to stop here on your way to Q&A Bar which is located further down the road. Grab your slice then hop on a motorbike, or if it’s not too muggy of a night, burn off the calories by walking to your nitecap!
