La Colle-sur-Loup
I was scheduled to take a cooking class in Colle-sur-Loup, so I hopped on the 400 bus to Vence from Nice early in the morning, jumped off and walked through the town.
Getting off the bus I was immediately hit by stunning views. Walking through the town I was enthralled by the small details of daily life in the early morning glow. Finally, I arrived at Notes de Cuisine for my cooking course which was just as quaint as the surrounding town.
St Paul de Vence
Full and accomplished from a day full of cooking fresh, local food, I wandered out again and caught the bus on to the next stop: St Paul de Vence.
Headed into the walled, medieval town and started exploring the winding, cobbelstone streets.
Finally, I stopped to enjoy a glass of wine and the sunset.
I agreed to share my table with a woman wearing a cashmere twin set (with the cardigan tied around her shoulders, pearl necklace, and Prada leather loafers. With the wine was served a little dish of popcorn. My new tablemate scoffed (and now I have a much better idea of what that word actually looks like) and said “Oh, I won’t be eating THAT.” Hahaha, I know, honey, I know. I finished mine and then spend the next 30 minutes seriously considering dipping into her bowl, not only because I was a bit hungry, but also I kind of wanted to see how she would react.
While I wanted to stay and explore longer, I needed to catch the last bus back to Nice. So I navigated my way back down the labyrinth to the main road and bid adieu to this charming little village.
