Ashley Sutton : Gin :: Willy Wonka : Chocolate and AR Sutton & Co Engineers is the magical factory where you enter into the fabulous world of Sutton’s booze-filled imagination. Known for designing some of Bangkok’s most beautiful Bars (The Iron Fairies, Maggie Choo’s, Sing Sing Theater), you can see that he took very special care in every last industrial, steampunkish detail in this, his personal workshop and gin distillery.

The space is beyond gorgeous and the cocktails are divine (and I’m not even a big fan of gin) which makes this spot handily one of my absolute favorite bars in Bangkok.

Update: Sutton renamed this bar to “Iron Balls” the name of the gin distilled there. While I’m sure this made sense for branding purposes or something, I simply find it to be way too base of a name for such an elegant and sophisticated place. So while everyone else may now refer to this bar as “Iron Balls” I will forever refer to it by it’s original name which I find as fanciful and fitting as the bar itself.
