My day in Ari ended with an art gallery opening, so it seemed only appropriate to go to an art exhibit wrap up party too. We headed down to see the Spirit of Sanamluang by Cherdwood Sakolaya at Soy Sauce Factory Art Space in Chinatown. We grabbed a couple of drinks from the bar downstairs and then headed up into the exhibit space.
The exhibit was black and white portraits taken in Sanamlaung. We got a chance to speak with Cherdwood, the photographer, and hear a bit about his work firsthand. There was also a woman getting a traditional Thai tattoo.
Afterwards, we headed to Soulbar which is basically across the street. We ran into a coworker and a friend who graciously let us share their table and got us some Lao beers. Then we kicked back and enjoyed this awesome jazz band and especially this Thai jazz diva who completely blew our minds with her voice.
