Today a friend asked me for a bar recommendation in Bangkok. After living in BKK for one and half years I covered a lot of ground in that department, so I threw together a quick list of my favorites. Here are my 2 cents on the Best Bars of Bangkok (click the links to read full reviews!):
My Favorite Speakeasies:
- Sugar Ray, You’ve Just Been Poisoned in Ekkamai, funky mad cocktail scientists will make you the best drinks in BKK
- Q&A Bar in Asoke, like stepping in to the cocktail car of a glamorous 1930s train
- J Boroski in Thong Lo, no menu, you tell the mixologists the flavors you like and they whip up custom cocktails using the evening’s seasonal, local ingredient and then you sit back and enjoy and listen to their amazing classic rock playlist
- Rabbit Hole in Thong Lo is super hi-so and trendy, but has an amazing gin-washed white truffle martini
- U.N.C.L.E in Chong Nonsi & Thong Lo, both locations upstairs from Lady Brett and brought to you from Sapporot Hospitality group
- Havana Social in Nana makes it worth braving my least favorite neighborhood to step into an old phone booth and be whisked away to the glory days of Havana, Cuba
My Favorite Bars in Rattanakosin (Old Town) / Chinatown:
My Favorite Bars in Sukhumvit / Silom:
- Studio LAM
- WTF Gallery
- A.R. Sutton & Co Engineers (Ekkamai)
- Vesper (Sala Dang, Silom)
- Smalls
- Shades of Retro (Ekkamai)
- TUBA (Ekkamai)
- Track 17 at The Commons (Thonglo)
- Le Cafe des Stagiaires (Chong Nonsi, Silom)
- The Iron Fairies (Thonglo)
