24 Hours in Da Lat, Vietnam

I had Monday off from work so decided to do a last minute 3 day weekend to Vietnam to escape Bangkok for a bit. I flew toHo Chi Minh City (aka Saigon if you’re old school, or HCMC if you’re hip and current) Friday evening and spent 48 Hours in HCMC mostly relaxing.

Sunday evening I grabbed my bag from my fancy boutique hotel, took a flight down to Da Lat, made my way to Dalat Easy Friends Hostel and crashed in my bunk. From a $150 room to a $7.50 room. It all evens out in the end, right?

Early morning calm in Da Lat, Vietnam. See the faint Eiffel, Tower in the mist?

I woke up early and walked through town enjoying the quiet stillness that early morning brings, until I found the beautiful chaos that is the town’s market.

I continued my stroll taking in the streets of Da Lat.

Until I arrived at an cafe, my breakfast destination. It was even more adorable than I could imagine. I enjoyed my morning coffee, tea, and yogurt with fruit from my second story window perch. All the while doodling with the provided crayons (if I call it Zentangle meditation, does that make this more socially acceptable & enlightened sounding?)  enjoying watching the activities in the street below.

Then I headed back to the hostel to meet my guide for My Day Tour with Da Lat Easy Riders Club!
